We prepare and format titles to be viewer friendly on all devices. Authors need to know that their eBook will not have the same appearance as the standard print version.
Converting a document into an eBook requires manual editing and formatting to make it function properly and look good in Amazon Kindle, Barnes & Noble Nook, and hand-held devices. Improper formatting can result in book returns and bad reviews.
Amazon and Barnes & Noble both offer free Apps for viewing eBooks on iPads and mobile hand-held devices.
We will convert your manuscript to conform with the following:
Images
Images cannot be floating whereby the text wraps around the image.
Images can be no wider than 500 pixels and should be optimized for low compression.
Fonts
Standard fonts will be used. These include Times New Roman, Garamond, and Arial.
Font sizes will be set at 11 or 12 point.
Minimize font size variation.
Columns
No columns.
Tables
No tables.
Tables need to be converted to image files.
Page Spacing
All excess page spacing will be eliminated for better reading on smaller devices.
Cover Image
Thumbnail image will be prepared for the Kindle and Nook catalogs.
Hyperlinks
Hyperlinks will be static, as they can cause problems, especially with mobile devices such as iPhone and iPad.
Active hyperlinks also run the risk of distracting your reader.
Manuscript Requirements
Manuscript should be in Microsoft Word Doc format.
Manuscripts are converted into the following:
1. Mobipocket (MOBI) for Amazon Kindle
2. EPUB for Barnes and Noble and most other readers.
It is important that your book be proofread and copyedited.
